Kalbarri Attractions
Kalbarri attractions are plentiful and there
is something to see and do for all age groups, all budgets and all different
interests.
Whether you are a bird watching fanatic ( some 200 known species), a wildflower
enthusiast (800 species), someone who likes to spend a few hours fishing ,
a bushwalker looking for stunning photography, or an admirer of
the mighty humpback whales, you will find your needs catered for in Kalbarri.
Kalbarri National Park: The Loop ( Natures Window) and Z Bend are both
within a 400 ~ 500 metre walk from the carparks. For those who like a more
challenging task, take the full Loop Walk Trail ( 8kms) but allow plenty of
time and carry water and wear sturdy walking shoes. A little further
out of town is the Ross Graham Lookout & Hawks Head A sealed road
takes you to the two lookouts and its a short walk from the carpark to
the newly constructed lookouts. ( Wheelchair access at Hawks Head is available)
Rainbow Jungle on Red Bluff Road is a 'must see' attraction. Probably one of the most unique
parrot parks in Australia with exotic and rare parrots, rosellas and black cockatoos.
Ian & Lisa Brumley have invested a lot of their time and money into creating
the Rainbow Jungle to what it is today. Dont forget to climb the whaletower to look
out over Jakes Point, you just might spot a whale.
Open daily 9AM ~ 5PM (last entrance 4PM)
Sundays 10AM ~ 5PM
Back in town you can amuse the children at the Oceanarium equipped with a
touch pool and large aquariums. The touch pools are designed to show as accurately
as possible what enviroment the marine life inhabits.
Open daily from 10AM ~ 4PM
There are a number of fantastic tours that can be taken whilst you are staying
in Kalbarri and I have made up a separate page to list them. To do so here
would be an injustice to them (plus it would make this a really long page !!)
