Cervantes ~ Jurien Attractions
Nambung National Park
The most outstanding feature of Nambung National Park is the Pinnacles Desert .
This area is in the heart of the Park and consists of thousands of
limestone pillars rising out of yellow sand. Some pillars are three and a half
metres tall. The pillars are composed of lime-rich sand derived from seashells.
The first documented sighting of the Pinnacles was in 1658, when passing Dutch sailors
saw what they believed to be the ruins of an ancient city.
Cervantes Beach
Well known both locally and by overseas visitors, Cervantes Beach
has pure white sand and turquoise waters that are ideal
for the family or for a quiet moment.
Wildflowers
The wildflower season extends from August to November and the
variety and colours of the wildflowers will be sure to enthuse
camera buffs.
